It's cold and rainy out! Here are some fun ideas to do with your kids that might be new to you!
1. Silly Chef
I always have at least a handful of out of code items around whether its expired seasonings, baking ingredients from last year, or a canned food that was too far back to see. So once or twice a year I let my girls play chef with those items! I get to clean out my cupboards, and they have a blast mixing weird ingredients together to make a nice chefs slop. We get great play time before throwing it out.
2. Card Making
Think about which family member or friend is having a birthday next. Get ahead and ask your kids if they want to make some homemade cards with you.
3. Old Fashioned Fun
Make Paper Airplanes and race them! Rock, paper, scissors tournament, pillow fight, puppet show, and fort building! All timeless ideas for indoor fun.
4. Change Toss
We had a neighbor growing up that would save her change and let the neighborhood kids try to win it. We loved it! Round up your change at home, get a jar, and have your kids throw the coins into the jar! The kids get to keep the change that they make in and they get extra practice with hand eye coordination! Move the change jar back further as you please.
5. Indoor Play Places
Head to indoor play places like Rebounderz or DEFY!
6. Do Yoga!
Yoga is a great rainy day indoor activity! There are some really fun kids options like Cosmic Yoga that can keep their attention!
7. Take a trip to the Mall
We love an inexpensive impromptu trip to the Sunrise Mall. We might have something to buy, but mostly I love that my kids get in some exercise walking, and that they are thrilled just to get a Sees Candy sample and ride the escalator. It's a great way to get out of the house for an hour!
8. Collage Fun
Gather old magazines, newspapers and mail and give your kids some themes for collage making! They can cut and glue away and then share their creations. Our girl scout troop did one themed on healthy habits!
