Pumpkin Nights is bringing its interactive Halloween experience unlike anything else back to Auburn this October. Taking place at the Gold Country Fairgrounds, Pumpkin Nights invites visitors or “Pumpkinheads” to journey into the world of Pumpkin Nights with dazzling, multi-sensory Halloween displays and eight Pumpkin Lands created with over 3,000 hand-carved pumpkins and funkins. The outdoor, family friendly Halloween experience will be open for 18 days—kicking off on Wednesday, Oct. 17 and ending on Sunday, Nov. 4.

“We’re excited to bring the magic of Pumpkin Nights to Auburn for a second time! We are especially excited to give attendees a behind-the-scenes look on our social media accounts at how the Pumpkin Lands are created and introduce the talented artists behind the installations,” said Chelsea Kasen, Pumpkin Nights’ co-founder. “Pumpkin Nights is the perfect Halloween treat for everyone, whether you’re bringing your family, friends or a date. Choose your own adventure and explore all Pumpkin Nights as to offer.”

Auburn can look forward to eight immersive Pumpkin Lands including:

  • Pumpkin Pirate Cove—a tropical island where pumpkin pirates protect the pumpkin treasure in the shadows of a pirate ship. Kids can dig for buried treasure in the Pumpkin Dig to trade for miniature pumpkins.
  • Maravilla Lane—a world where classic sugar skull pumpkins hang overhead for the perfect photo opp and a marigold alter shines for Frida Kahlo.
  • Pumpkin Reef—the all UV light underwater pumpkin wonderland is filled with bubbles, sea creatures, coral and a giant pumpkin octopus.
  • Spider Alley—intricate pumpkin spiders and bugs await your admiration.
  • Forbidden Pumpkin City—this Asian-inspired land’s lantern tunnel and 40-foot dragon are crowd favorites. “Pumpkinheads” can also make a wish at the reflective turtle pond.
  • Great Pumpkin Hall—dedicated to all the Harry Potter fans out there, the Great Pumpkin Hall features a live owl meet and greet, owl pumpkins and pumpkin spice scented fog. Yum!
  • Monster Mash—the most interactive of the lands, this pumpkin playground was made for everyone’s inner child, featuring see-saws and other playground favorites.
  • Pumpkin Passage—your journey will begin by walking through a pumpkin tunnel with 600 hand carved jack-o-lanterns and a friendly greeting from “Jack-o-lynn,” the 9-foot tall pumpkin.

In addition to the captivating lands, “Pumpkinheads” can explore Pumpkin Central to check all the classic must-dos off their Fall bucket list. Pumpkin Central features a variety of tastes and treats, seasonal beverages, a movie screening of Pixar’s Coco, a pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting and meet and greets with pumpkin artists carving giant pumpkins live. Pumpkin Central will also host performers including fire dancers at the Spirit of Pumpkins Fire Show and activities for the whole family to enjoy in the crisp Fall weather.
