On the wings of some of the most legendary aircraft, piloted by the best of the best, the 13th annual California Capital Airshow returns to Mather Airport to thrill audiences of all ages on September 21, 22 and 23. Presented by Sacramento County in partnership with the City of Rancho Cordova, the show will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and includes a one-of-a-kind Friday night show, known as Airshow After Dark, as well as two full days of heart-pounding aerial performances and aircraft displays. 

This year the CCA lineup leaves nothing on the table. Whether you’re a thrill seeker, a history buff, a young person interested in STEM or an aviation enthusiast, the 2018 California Capital Airshow offers a vast mix of family-friendly entertainment amid an aviation-themed festival atmosphere.

  1. Kiddie Hawk - the family oasis that includes tables and chairs in the shade, Mother's Lounge to nurse or change a diaper, free water for the kids and lots of fun STEM activities for the kids, brought to you by the Sacramento Children's Museum! 
  2. Mather 100 Museum - experience 100 of years of history that includes aircraft, artifacts and people of Mather Airport! Don't miss taking a picture at the Mather Gates and in a Curtiss JN-4 "Jenny"!
  3. Aerojet Rocketdyne's Launch Pad - Robotics, Drones, Virtual Reality googles, oh my! This massive exhibit includes all things STEM, explore a variety of activities and also learn how to keep the excitement going after the Airshow. 
  4. Military Recruiter Zone - through interactive virtual reality googles discover the several career opportunities that are available in the US military -- recruiters, aircraft and other assets will round of this huge exhibit!
  5. Climb through Jets, Cargo airplanes, warbirds and so much more!! Meet the pilots, learn about the airplane's history and explore what it feels like to sit in the cockpit! Don't forget to watch as these amazing aircraft take to the sky from 12-4pm Saturday & Sunday!!

  1. September 21-23, 2018 - Friday Night gates are open 5-10pm, with flying performances from 6-8pm. Saturday and Sunday gates are open 9a-5pm, with flying performances from 12-4pm

  4. Saturday & Sunday performances are for the most part the same -- unless there is a change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
